Gabify - A Story That Began With a Child

Gabify - A Story That Began With a Child

In India, over 18 million children are estimated to be living with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, speech delays, or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Most of them are diagnosed late — often after age five, sometimes after age seven. In those missed years, entire windows of early intervention close quietly, one by one. The families behind them navigate a journey that is, too often, desperate and lonely.
Gabify was not born in a boardroom. It was born from a truth that its founder, Sahil, witnessed up close — the moment a family realizes something is different about their child, misses a developmental milestone, and finds no one to help them understand what it means or what to do next.
"Parents don't fail their children. Systems do. And we built Neurolens to fix the system."
— SAHIL, FOUNDER, GABIFY

Founded three years ago, Gabify has since grown from an idea into a clinical-grade platform trusted by therapy centers, developmental pediatricians, special educators, and parents across India. In April 2026 — World Autism Awareness Month — the startup announced the close of its pre-seed funding round, a moment that felt less like a business milestone and more like a promise being kept.
As of early 2026, India has approximately 2,840 to 3,372 clinical psychologists officially registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India. That is roughly 1 psychologist for every 2,00,000 children. In rural India, that ratio is far worse. Neurolens was designed specifically for this vacuum.

HOW IT WORKS

A 5-Minute Screening That Changes Everything
Neurolens by Gabify is a 5-minute, AI-powered screening tool developed in New Delhi by a team of autistic innovators. Using a multi-modal AI approach, it evaluates behavioral and acoustic indicators typically observed during clinical assessments — from a simple mobile device.
01 CAREGIVER INPUT
Parents or caregivers use a mobile device to record short samples of their child's speech and social behavior, following guided prompts.
02 AI ANALYSIS
A multi-layered AI model trained on clinical datasets and established frameworks like DSM-5 and ADOS analyzes every recording.
03 MULTI-MODAL EVALUATION
The AI evaluates voice samples, eye movements, facial expressions, and social response patterns — including response to the child's name.
04 DETAILED REPORT
A clinician-ready report is generated instantly, in multiple languages, outlining possible concerns and pathways for early intervention.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

The Science Behind the Screen
What makes Neurolens different is not just its reach — it is its depth. The platform is built on a multi-framework AI model that draws from globally recognized tools including M-CHAT-R, CARS, ISAA, and the MISIC (Malin's Intelligence Scale for Indian Children) — culturally adapted for the Indian context where developmental norms, family dynamics, and early stimulation environments are distinct from the Western models most tools are designed around.
189 EVALUATION PARAMETERS
The model tracks nearly 200 distinct signals, including motor behavior, muscle movement, gaze, and subtle patterns in speech and social interaction.
LANGUAGE-AGNOSTIC
By focusing on acoustic and behavioral cues rather than vocabulary, the tool works effectively for children from multilingual and non-English-speaking homes.
EARLY DETECTION
Capable of identifying signs of neurodivergence in infants as young as 12 months — significantly earlier than traditional diagnostic timelines.
BUILT BY NEURODIVERGENT INNOVATORS
Developed by individuals with lived experience on the autism spectrum, ensuring the technology is both accessible and deeply humane.
MILESTONE TRACKING
Beyond initial screening, the platform tracks ongoing milestones like vocabulary growth and response time to give clinicians better context for therapy planning.
PATTERN RECOGNITION ENGINE
Deep learning models identify subtle correlations like micro-delays and non-verbal gaps that are often invisible to the human eye.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT

No Child Is Left Behind
The impact of early detection is not abstract. For a child with autism identified at 18 months versus 5 years, the difference in outcomes is measurable and profound — in speech, in social connection, in academic performance, in quality of life.
"Neurolens is not just a product. It is a public health intervention, where millions of children can dream for a successful life."
Through partnerships with Anganwadi centers, Women and Child Development departments, and therapy franchise networks, Gabify is building a distributed screening infrastructure that brings Neurolens to the doorstep — not just to the clinic. A parent in a Tier 3 town in Andhra Pradesh. A teacher at a government school in UP. A health worker at an ICDS center in Maharashtra. All of them can now be the first line of early identification.

WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH, APRIL 2026

When technology is built with empathy and clinical rigor, it can be truly transformative.
As India marks Autism Awareness Month, Neurolens stands as proof that AI — when shaped by lived experience and deep respect for the communities it serves — can bridge the impossible gap between a parent's first worry and the moment they finally get an answer.
"Every child deserves to be seen. Neurolens is making sure of it."
